DoFollow Or NoFollow For Your Blog?
I’m thinking again about what to do with the NoFollow tag in WordPress blogs..
But most important is to get all content up to the blog, “Content is King, keyword is Queen” as was said at Alex Jeffreys webinar.
Anyway here is little more about DoFollow:
See at the bottom of this blog post about using a DoFollow logo. What is your opinion about that??
What is the NoFollow tag?
The NoFollow tag is by default in WordPress added to your visitors comments and then your visitors don’t buy price cialis Kamagra Chewable online get any credibility for their activity on your blog. Your visitors should have credibility for adding information on your blog and therefore get their links “followed”.
This means that the search engines follow the link on the comment on your blog to your visitors site and your visitors sites will hopefully get higher ranked in the search engines.
Best solution is to use the DoFollow tag
I think the best solution is to use DoFollow because it is a Win-Win situation. You get more motivated visitors that wants to add valuable information on your blog and at the same time the visitors get credibility for their effort.
Alex Jeffreys coaching group and DoFollow
We in the Alex Jeffreys coaching group should take advantage of the DoFollow tag especially at this moment when we all have recently started and can help each other even more. We are all in a network with real valuable information that together get us higher ranked in the search engines (we have the needed valuable information that visitors are looking for).
When our blogs are more higher “Alexa” ranked it is understandable that we may not use DoFollow.
DoFollow logo
Is it a good idea to have a DoFollow logo or used as a “stamp” that is showing more clearly that a blog use DoFollow? What are your comments? Maybe it’s an overkill? I can’t decide myself.
Anyway my last decision now is that I will not think about this and spend more energy creating content. But this thinking got one extra blog post about this.

HI Ali,
In my opinion, the NoFollow should be disabled and DoFollow should be enabled. It just doesn’t make sense to me why Google shouldn’t trawl all the blogs. It’s still content anyway no matter how you look at it.
All the Best!

Hey Ali!
Wow… thank you so much for this post. I had no idea that Wordpress was by default a No-follow tag. I already downloaded the plugin in, and as soon as I am done with this I am uploading it. I agree that people should get the backlinks. They are doing the work by getting out there and commenting. Let them get credit for it.
Have a great New Year! and see you in the webinars.
Beth
Hi Beth
Good that you take care of your visitors.
When not having the NoFollow tag the search engines will recognize that your blog should get SEO points. But it may also be negative due to what kind of comments that are made..
Conclusion is that most important is still the content in the blog and in the comments. I think it is ok with some comments that are not related to the content of your blog, for example: internet marketing. It is natural.
Important is the balance between comments not related to your content and comments related to your content. If there are more comments related to other things that your blog is about then you will get lower ranked for your topic.
Happy Prosperous 2009 and see you soon

Well it depends on how public you want your “dofollow” status to be. Most bloggers who leave off the nofollow microformat do so because they want to pass a little link love to their regular contributors and they don’t care about SEO or strategic link building or whatever…
Then when they get their blog URL posted up on “dofollow” lists such as to be found on Digital Point they get really pissed off… and usually then go nofollow.
Those that display a “dofollow” logo tend to know that they may attract dumb linkbuilders who leave silly comments and so are prepared for it.
Thanks Andy,
for me this sounds that the logo should not be used. But I will use it if I feel for it.
All the best, Ali
Hi Mark (comment #2)
thanks for the opportunity for being interviewed. It will be good chance to really think one more time what we really are doing and what our plans are. And also getting our and Alex’s internet marketing thinking spread in one more way.
Sincerely, Ali
Hi Ali,
Thanks so much for your great plugin do follow.
I like your website and I hope you are having a great holiday,
Great pictures, my grandchildren also want snow, (not me)
Thanks.
Flor
Thanks for visiting Flor.
We have got a nice mix of all kind of Alex Jeffreys students. It makes me confused now when I realize that some of us are grandparents and some are offline students etc. But I understand that this is not the reality(?). My first feeling is that we all are young and in the beginning. And still the feeling is young although some of us has grown very fast.
I can’t tell if a blog or person behind the blog is old, young, short, tall etc. And it doesn’t matter. We are all newborn now. And it also doesn’t matter offline. I’m somewhere in middle of my life (or as it feels now, in the very beginning). But it is mixed, sometimes I feel like a teenager, sometimes I feel like an oldster.
I think “You Are What You Feel” is much more close to who you are than “You Are What You Eat”.
Sorry this reply went strange and off topic or maybe not..
..At last I want ot say that we are a powerful group with various kinds of backgrounds and personalities that will cover a big part of our focus: internet marketing.
I want to thank you all for this interesting 2009.
