Today there were a big crowd on the road in the forest when I was bicycling to my work.

It was strange.

Then when I came closer to the crowd I understood that they were bird-watchers with cameras and binoculars.

They were waiting for a bird to show up. Wow what a bird! I thought and got curious.

This made me think about Alex Jeffreys coaching and marketing strategies. Is he like the bird?
Marketers are following and watching his steps online. Waiting to follow him to fly.

Enough of thinking. Choose action instead of thinking. Action will make you fly.
Your marketing-watchers will be satisfied when they see you fly.

Later this week Alex Jeffreys will be back with more information about traffic generation and marketing strategies. I have been waiting long time for these webinars. But most needed for me is action.

(Update: I found out that the bird is a yellow brown sparrow. 400 bird-watchers were watching the sparrow yesterday and it caused some chaos. Have never been seen before in Sweden. Now it is enough about the sparrow and back to marketing strategies.)

Last night I watched TV. I usually don’t watch the TV because my to do list is growing to fast.

On the TV was an interesting programme about philanthropists. And one of them was Bill Gates and his foundation. His foundation is helping children and poor in the 3rd world. Trying to cure diseases. I think it is a quick fix with the medicines. Focusing helping the needed being self-supported to get fresh water and food for lifetime should be best. Maybe this is what they do as their main purpose. If not, their mission may not succeed.

It is like our internet marketing business online. We have to build it up step by step. We have to build up a certain amount of valuble content etc. Then we have the foundation that our business can grow from. There is no quick fix for this.

When we are helping our visitors with their business online it is important understanding the content building as a foundation. There is no quick fix such as a pill that will make the success. The internet marketing strategies and tools are important to teach. When the new online business owners have learned they can be running by themselves.

(At the same time I watched the movies Ali and Dodgeball. Those movies have some similarities with our internet marketing business strategies as well.)

First day of 2009 is soon over here in Stockholm, Sweden. It has been a wonderful day.

For the first time ever, almost, whole family have been out on a small lake skating. It has been raining and been very dark most of the winter days the last years. But now we have got sun and some few freezing degrees.

Offline friends
In the afternoon we got some friends over to our offline place. Long time since we met last time. This day I may have not directly worked with any internet marketing tasks, but.. One of my friends is working as a health consultant for different companies and have made own content about this subject. And of course I have to tell her about the possibilities with internet and marketing online. Maybe a new blog is born soon.

Another of my friends talked about his mother that wrote a personal travel blog. His mother got amazed about how many visitors and comments she have got on her blog. She is also linking to travel agencies etc. She is making free internet marketing for these companies and also new costumers. He/she even didn’t know about AdSense, which is one small opportunity among all that is possible to use.

Seeds are planted instead of internet marketing
Ok, no internet marketing has beed made today but some seeds are planted and I hope that I will get some offline friends up and running and see them success online. If I can learn them using ours and Alex Jeffreys internet marketing strategies. I’m sure that they will come up to new marketing ideas that we old Alex students can learn from.

Surpising day
This day is has been little surprising. Few hours ago I was sure that I had to go to bed. Very tired since I have been sleeping maybe not more than 5 hours per night for a month now. But I thought I check my mail and still I’m doing something that may be good for internet marketing. This surpise me and also the time with family outdoors.

My to do list
Still I have not made my plans and to do list. It is in my head. Anyway some of the tasks on my daily to do list:
• Write one blog post (at least 3-4 times a week, 1 per day is much for me now)
• Write one comment per day that have valuable content

I am also going to complete my first eBook before 7th of January. At that time I start to work at office again after holiday. But there is not more time now on the days due to family. But it is a good time for this goal.

Automatically step by step
Automatically things have been made today, even if I have not written down my goals or to do list this first day of 2009. If every day 2009 is like today a new internet business will be born. Step by step this is possible for everyone.

When I’m writing this the New Internet Marketing Year is only 30 minutes old.

Think what great opportunities that you can decide to have right now and through the whole year. Improve and tweak it for the following years and you will have the success you are made for.

Decide being productive, decide to take action, decide to help people. Do it step by step and you end up in big business.

And every business needs Internet Marketing. It doesn’t matter if your product is top of the line. You will not succeed if you don’t have the right Internet Marketing strategies.

End the negative energies
Today I got a tip from a friend that it is a good idea to write down those things that have a negative influence on you, like worry, stress, procrastination, money problems etc on a paper.

Then you will burn that paper and your negative influences will disappear, hopefully. My friend promise that it will work. I’m not fully convinced, but hopefully some day this year I will be.

A small tip how to reach your goals
Make a to do list of about 6 needed actions to be done every day that are aligned with your goal. Keep these lists in a small notebook. If some of the actions is still undone transfer it for the next day. When doing this you will have your actions made and develop yourself and your business. You will expand instead of getting stucked in the same spot.

Personalization of the blogs
It seems that many of us students have problems with personalization of their blogs and images. But we should not get stuck in details such as images. I’m stucked with many things and it is difficult to be focused and choose what to do. Most tasks are undone.

Start with content
The most important to start with is to write content, content, content. Then you will get ranked in the search engines and you will get visitors to your blog with your information. The content is the foundation for our internet marketing strategy.

Alex right now: “Take time and preparation for your content, not needed to be perfect, but make it vaulable.” (Alex first videos was.. not so good)

Images important for your branding
Secondary and also important are the images. Images are very important for your brand. You want to have your style. You are unique and real. With your branding the visitors will remember you easier and will also get a feeling for you. Make your layout simple and clean. Try to make it easy to read. Make it easy for your visitors to get a grip of all content of your blog and what content is to be found. It is easy getting lost and being confused in the information age. Make your internet marketing simple.

Yes, my blog also need help and improvement. I like some details, but at the same time there are many things to change. For example the heading image, the text font etc. But I will not take to much time to make it as I want. I will try to keep it simple and instead creat content.

It will be interesting to see the blog posts and hopefully it will add new ideas for building more traffic. I am sure we all will get more ideas. I am still unfocused. But today I have anyway checked Squidoo.com/ internet marketing and created two “lenses”. It is totally new for me and thanks for your comments about using Squidoo. It’s new strategy for me. Still I have not visit my fellow Alex Jeffreys students blogs. But I will soon drop by.

Update: check www.wetpaint.com -it is like a cross between Squidoo and Wikipedia. It seems that Wetpaint generate more traffic than Squidoo. I will come back with more information regarding this.

1. Add a comment there to the blog post at Garrys site
2. Get listed on Garry Parkes blogroll
3. Get a blogroll on your site (I have cheated and only copied the blog links, I will check out how to do it right)
4. Make a blog post on your site and write about this above.

Wow!! what a dashboard for WordPress 2.7!

I upgraded my WordPress blog to version 2.7 today with only one click.

It is easy for me for being happy when I use the WordPress software, because I compare with the CMS software we are using at my office that is very expensive, slow and non user friendly compared with WP. But this CMS software is anyway one of the best!! Ok it has a lot of functionality etc..

But when that CMS system are going to be upgraded it takes maybe 2 weeks (cost a lot), compared with today when I only had to make one click in Fantastico and the WordPress software was upgraded. It may only be a software for blogs but it is powerful. Love you..

..or maybe not.

There are many alternatives for hosting web sites. For hosting your WordPress blog on your own domain you must check that the hosting company got a C-panel with Fantastico that will automaticallly install the WordPress blog on your domain. This is “easy” to do, but it is easy to get lost and forget steps needed to take. I will do a little QuickGuide for this.

Having your blog at WordPress without your own domain is possible. Good thing is you will get WordPress versions automatically updated and being searchable in their database (very good).

One both negative and positive feature is that your blog at WordPress.com is stable but the response time can be little slow. And you may have to buy upgrades for making design changes on your theme and more.

At last, if you have your own domain for your blog it will be more brandable. You should choose your own domain name if you are planning to build a business connected with your blog.
